Fall In Love With This Bebe Dress

August 17, 2007 · 1 Comment

So when I was flipping through this months Instyle with Gwen on the cover and I spotted a few things I loved. One being this Bebe dress below. Now all my life I never really thought much of Bebe I thought it was a cheaper brand that ran to small and tight for my taste. Lately (through Misha Barton, and Eva Longoria spokes ads) I’ve realized the brand is so much more than that, they actually have cute stuff! This rayon dress with all its beaded glory being my love of the day. We all know I love a sparkling statement…and this sure gives me one! I think it would be great for a night out in the city! It’s is also quite affortable at $150.

In visiting the website I found a lot of things that I loved, I’m in the proses of buying a dress for my birthday thats coming up…something to wear out in the city (with my tiara of course) when I celebrate, but I want it to be affortable. Look for my upcoming post on some options I’ve come up with, and help me decide!

Exact Knockoff — Marc Jacobs Look for Less

August 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

This is a Marc Jacobs shoe that I absolutely loved when it was in season (I believe it was Fall 06′ when he did this heel). Now it is available Yoox.com for $322 only in size 6…so go get it if your a size 6 lol. Anyways…

Here is the exact knockoff…tell me this isn’t spot on!

This is Jessica Simpson $90 on Amazon.com. Now Marc also did them in Gray which was the color that I was completely in love with.

This is the kinda thing that really confuses me…how come they make exact knock-offs like that! Yes I understand the cycle of designer being passed down and knocked off until eventually there is some knockoff of it in the clearance bin at Wal-mart but it just drives me crazy because thats like stealing art? How can Jessica Simpson or her ‘design team’ i guess just steal that design and call it their own? They just don’t poses the creative talent themselves??… and just say lets make that Marc Jacobs shoe and sell it for less… Wouldn’t she be embarrassed… Like why doesn’t Marc say “Ummm Jess you ripped off my shoe?” lol wouldn’t that be awkward… (Sorry I’m rambling…)

Anyway I’m a total hypocrite and totally shameless because I bought the Jessica rip off :/ in gray…and I love them…lol. I guess sometimes you do have break some rules.

The difference between a knock-off and a fake:

Knock-off: Jessica Simpson’s shoe was inspired by the Marc Jacobs shoe.

Fake: If the shoe said Marc Jacobs on it…but wasn’t made by Marc Jacobs then it would be a fake. Like everything is EXACTLY the same, same pattern, same material, same stitch, same buckle…You know like a Fake Louis Vuitton and such…

There is a big difference between Fake and Knock-off… My Rule: NEVER wear a fake…sometimes consider a knock-off. And there you have it.

P.S. If you don’t know Yoox.com its a great site for designer clothes for less. Yes it’s old season, but you can still find some hidden goodies. My advice: stick to basics that can appear to be classics, so no one can say your out of season. Also I think the shoes are the best finds.

Get Your Self Some — Kid Robot

August 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Founded by designer Paul Budnitz in 2002, Kidrobot is the world’s premier creator and retailer of limited edition art toys and apparel. The products sold at Kidrobot merge urban street trends and pop art to produce limited edition, collectible toys and apparel. Many Kidrobot products feature unique collaborations with famous artists from backgrounds of graffiti, fine art, industrial design, graphic design,
illustration and music. –Taken from the official website at Kidrobot.com

Now I’ve been following Kid Robot for a while and of course I love them because they are loud and obnoxious and such. I think that they are great because they are limited edition the number out of how many is printed on the product and yet they are decently priced compared to BBC, Ice Cream, Bape and other companies of that nature that I also like. When I was on the site a while back I noticed they finally released a crew neck, and I’m a sucker for a crew neck sweater…so I’m showing you…because I love it and I want it.

$165 and of course it runs in limited quantities and I’m sure it was be sold out soon. It is also coming out in black which I’m sure will go fast as well. One day I want to dress nice and fashionable and the next day I want to be loud and funky… never know! Go check out the site to see all the great styles!

Loving This — Karta

August 17, 2007 · 1 Comment

I recently came across a brand that I hadn’t seen before called ‘Karta’. I don’t know if it’s just me, or its new or what. When I tried searching for information about it on the internet I got nowhere…except for some purchasing information, no official website. I first spotted the brand at Nordstrom they have the cutest dresses, tunics, jumpers, etc. with great beading and appliqué details. They’re great because it’s like clothing with the jewelry already on them! Here were some of my favorites off of Nordstrom.com.

Black Beaded Tunic Dress, also available in green. $216
